Phluido, Inc. is a wireless communications startup based in San Diego, CA. The company was founded in March 2014 with the mission to bring the cloud revolution to the world of wireless communications, for faster and cheaper deployment of higher-performance cellular networks.
Phluido's team is led by the two cofounders, whose combined resume includes two PhD degrees and about twenty years of experience in wireless communications, shared between academic research, R&D roles at Qualcomm, with more than 100 IEEE papers and more than 60 US and international patents coauthored.

Alan Barbieri, CEO
Entrepreneur and innovator with a passion for technology, Alan Barbieri has been instrumental in developing some key technologies for several communication standards such as DVB-S2 and LTE.
Alan has been an associate professor, a research scientist, a system engineer, and an entrepreneur. He enjoys leading teams of passionate technologists while cultivating an environment where new ideas can flourish.
Dario Fertonani, CTO
A science and technology enthusiast, Dario started his career in academia, earning a PhD in telecom engineering and holding research scholar and faculty positions.
He then joined world-leading chipmaker Qualcomm, where he was a key contributor to the development of 4G wireless products.
Inspired by his vision of cloud-redefined wireless infrastructures, Dario cofounded Phluido in March 2014.
Bo has 45 years of global telecom experience in both wireline and wireless. He was Executive Vice President of Motorola and President of its global wireless infrastructure business. Prior to that, he spent 30 years in Ericsson, holding different management positions. Among them, president of Honeywell Ericsson Development Co. in Anaheim, California 1984-1986; Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of LM Ericsson in Stockholm, Sweden 1990-1993; President and CEO of Ericsson, Inc. in Dallas, Texas 1994-1998.
Upkar is a Wireless & RF System Architect/Executive, an industry expert serving on numerous industrial/technical /regulatory/policy bodies, with specialized knowledge and technical leadership in the design and development of state of the art wireless doing strategic technical business developments for Start-ups, the investment community and market leaders.
Mark is a seasoned executive in total product offerings combining hardware, software, services and experiences with over 15 years of experience in the wireless, games, services, consumer devices industry.
Ken has extensive executive and BOD level experience in high growth, high technology global organizations. He has been CEO ,Director and Chairmanof several companies that achieved $Billion+ valuations. He has served as a director in the US and in Asia of eight public company boards in addition to numerous private boards.
Ken Potashner is the Chairman of Newport Corporation(NEWP), an industry leader in the photonics sector with revenues in excess of $700M. Ken also is currently serves as aDirector for Events.com, DynaOptics Inc, and OneStopSystems, and is an advisor to several other corporations.
Ken served as the CEO and Chairman of Maxwell Technologies (MXWL) and Sonicblue (SBLU). Both companies experienced explosive growth by introducing revolutionary technology platforms. Ken previously had executive positions at Conner Peripherals and Quantum Corp.
William Eigner has been called “the go-to guy for M&A and emerging companies” and has often been recognized as a Top Attorney in San Diego. A partner at Procopio, San Diego’s largest law firm, with offices in Menlo Park, Austin and clients around the world, Eigner’s practice emphasizes venture capital, angel financing, seed capital and the financing, governing, operating, buying, selling and merging of growing and established technology and other businesses. Eigner serves as a director of EvoNexus and San Diego Venture Group, where he serves as board secretary. Eigner is a director of FHOOSH, Inc., an award winning cybersecurity company that protects and powers data for business, government and consumers. He also serves on the board of advisers of Encore Semi, NewBlue Inc., Aquai Technologies and other companies. Eigner is a trustee emeritus of San Diego Police Foundation and a former trustee and land use chairman of the La Jolla Town Council. A former U.S. Supreme Court Judicial Intern, Eigner graduated from Stanford and the University of Virginia School of Law.
